JOB DESCRIPTION REPORTING TO THE PERMANENT SECRETARY IN MINISTRY OF NATURAL RESOURCES, THE DIRECTOR OF MINING AND PETROLEUM UNIT SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE OF THE FOLLOWING TASKS: • COORDINATE THE ELABORATION OF POLICIES, LEGISLATIONS AND STRATEGY PAPERS RELATED TO THE • MINING, GEOLOGY, QUARRIES AND EVALUATE THEIR IMPLEMENTATION; • COORDINATE THE ELABORATION OF POLICIES, LEGISLATIONS AND STRATEGY PAPERS RELATED TO • PETROLEUM MANAGEMENT • ELABORATE ANNUAL ACTION PLANS, BUDGETS AND REPORTS FOR THE SUB SECTOR OF MINING AND PETROLEUM; • IN COLLABORATION WITH AFFILIATED AGENCIES AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT, ADVISE ON THE SMOOTH IMPLEMENTATION OF ANNUAL ACTION PLAN FOR MINING AND PETROLEUM SUB SECTOR; • ADVISE ON THE EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT IMPLEMENTATION OF MINING AND PETROLEUM PROGRAMMES AND ASSESS THEIR CONTRIBUTION TOWARDS THE REALIZATION OF LONG TERM COUNTRY VISION 2020, MDG'S AND EDPRSII; • ENSURE GOOD WORKING RELATIONS AND PARTNERSHIP WITH VARIOUS ACTORS FROM PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTORS AS WELL AS SPECIALIZED RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS OPERATING IN THE FIELD OF MINING AND PETROLEUM; • ENSURE EFFECTIVE IMPLEMENTATION OF RESOLUTIONS AND DECISIONS FORMULATED DURING TOP LEADERS 'MEETINGS, RETREATS AND FORA IN RELATION TO MINING AND PETROLEUM ; • DRAFT MEMORANDA OF COOPERATION BETWEEN THE MINISTRY AND VARIOUS PARTNERS IN THE FIELD OF MINING, GEOLOGY AND PETROLEUM; • MONITOR AND ADVISE THE MINISTRY ON MATTERS ARISING FROM THE IMPLEMENTATION OF VARIOUS REGIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENTS AND CONVENTIONS SIGNED AND RATIFIED BY RWANDA IN THE FIELD OF MINING AND PETROLEUM; • ADVISE THE MINISTRY ON THE APPROPRIATE MECHANISM FOR COLLECTING AND MANAGING STATISTICAL DATA IN THE FIELD OF MINING, GEOLOGY, QUARRIES AND PETROLEUM. 2. POST NUMBER TWO: GEOLOGY SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE A BACHELOR DEGREE (A0) IN GEOLOGY WITH THREE (3) YEARS OF WORKING EXPERIENCE; OR MASTER'S DEGREE IN GEOLOGY.
